We invite individual/consortia paper proposals from academics, policymakers, and practitioners from across sectors. The papers should give evidence for collaboration between host governments, private sector, micro-enterprise, academia, NGO community, in responding to humanitarian disasters and bring out areas that require focus in responding to emergencies while in partnership.
We particularly invite submissions that relate to the conference objectives. The specific objectives of the conference are to come up with recommendations on how the humanitarian sector needs to engage with:
1. The private sector in delivering effective humanitarian interventions, while observing humanitarian principles.
2. Academia in maximizing the opportunity to improve the quality of training and research in the humanitarian sector.
3. Micro-enterprise initiatives, especially in the first phase of response.
